getting to know eLEAP

The eLEAP Scholarship provides $500 for eligible students to spend on out-of-school time activities in Evanston, such as after-school programs or summer camps. eLEAP empowers students to explore their interests by expanding knowledge of opportunities and reducing financial barriers.

Three-step process for managing a scholarship program: 1. Log into Digital Backpack account, 2. Search for programs using the eLEAP tag, 3. Spend scholarship funds on programs.

how eLEAP works

* See eligibility requirements below

  1. Accessing Your Scholarship: [Not sure if you qualify? Check here]  Log into your Digital Backpack 65 account by clicking the ‘Sign in with Google‘ button and signing-in using your child’s District 65 Google account information to view your pre-loaded funding. The email and password used for login is your student’s 6-digit Student ID number and @district65.net (for example, 123456@district65.net), and their student password.

    Your student should know their Student ID and password - consider asking them! If you need assistance accessing your account, please reach out to eleap@digitalyouthnetwork.org.

  2. Search for Programs with the eLEAP tag: Head to the Digital Backpack ‘Explore’ page to search for programming your child is interested in! You can search for eLEAP programs by clicking “eLEAP” in the search filter, typing “eleap” in the search bar, or simply looking for programs with the “eleap” tag.

  3. Spend scholarship funds on programs: eLEAP students automatically qualify for a program’s financial aid. Check to see how much the program will cost you, by checking the “eLEAP User Scholarship Cost” in the program description. Then, apply your scholarship funds towards the remaining amount. After you request to apply funds, the program provider will reach out to you via email with next steps!
